Chief Information Officer

As Chief Information Officer, Mr. Gibson has overall responsibility for Quality Insights’ IT strategy and its alignment with business operations.  He oversees IT infrastructure, application development, information security and complex project management.  Prior to his appointment as CIO, Mr. Gibson was Quality Insights’ Director of IT Operations and its Privacy and Security Officer.  In addition to managing internal daily operations, he provided guidance and expertise to Quality Insights’ staff that helped thousands of physicians implement electronic health records and meet corresponding privacy and security standards.
 
Mr. Gibson’s15 years of IT experience include computer forensics, penetration testing, risk management, and IT Infrastructure.  He has presented on both privacy and security and health information technology related topics at several national conferences, and he is a contributing author of a book released through the American Bar Association titled, Health Care IT: The Essential Lawyer’s Guide to Health Care Information Technology and the Law. Additionally he served as a co-lead on the federal Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center program’s privacy and security Community of Practice (CoP) and served a two-year term on the national Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Privacy and Security Committee.  Locally he was president of the West Virginia Chapter of HIMSS during the 2014-2015 fiscal year.
 
Mr. Gibson earned a bachelor’s degree in Management and holds dozens of professional IT certifications, including Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Professional in Health Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
