SPECIAL ENROLLMENT PERIOD (SEP)

The Health Insurance Marketplace® is where people who don't have health insurance through a job, Medicare, Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), or another source can apply for qualifying health coverage. Although the open enrollment period for 2024 is closed, you may be able to enroll or change plans if you have certain life changes, like losing health coverage, moving, getting married or divorced, or having or adopting a baby to name a few.

TAX SEASON IS HERE!

Did You Receive a Premium Tax Credit when you Enrolled in a Marketplace plan?

For most taxpayers, Monday, April 15, 2024 is the deadline to file a personal federal tax return, pay any tax owed or request an extension to file. If you recently lost Medicaid or Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) coverage, enrolled in health insurance through the Marketplace, and qualified for an advance payment of the premium tax credit (APTC), you will need to reconcile the tax credit before you file. Quality Insights Navigators can provide assistance to help you! Check here for information about 2023 health coverage and filing taxes to “reconcile” a premium tax credit, use this tax checklist, and read how tax coverage affects 2023 taxes. If you received a 1095-A form or downloaded it, call us now at 1-844-238-1189 and we will help you!

IMPORTANT UPDATES IF YOU HAVE MEDICAID

On April 1, 2023, the State of Delaware began Medicaid renewals, which were paused during the COVID public health emergency since March 2020. Between April 1, 2023 and July 30, 2024, the State of Delaware will review everyone’s case to see if they still meet Medicaid eligibility criteria. To ensure you receive your letter from Medicaid, report any changes to your name or contact information (address, phone number, email) by calling the Change Report Center at 302-571-4900, option 2 or logging in to your Delaware ASSIST Account.

Don’t risk a gap in your Medicaid or CHIP coverage. Follow these steps:

Make sure your contact information is up to date
Check your mail for a letter
Complete your renewal form (if you get one)

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOU LOSE MEDICAID?

A certified Navigator will determine if you qualify for low-cost health insurance through the Marketplace® or if you need to submit additional information to Medicaid or try to re-enroll in Medicaid.
