West Virginia’s 2025 CCBHC Summit brings together state leaders, subject matter experts, and healthcare professionals for two afternoons of learning, collaboration, and innovation. This session will share best practices and workflows for optimizing the value of WVHIN in caring for clients.
Breakout Session
Successfully Integrating Peers into WV CCBHCs, provides an in-depth look at the role of Peer Recovery Support Specialists (PRSS) within the CCBHC Model. Participants will learn the scope of peer support, role boundaries, credentialing requirements, and best practices for incorporating both SUD and MH peers into multidisciplinary teams. The session emphasizes using lived experience to promote hope, empowerment, and recovery while strengthening professional collaboration.
Breakout Session
This webinar will help providers think through common staff roles and how the CCBHC model impacts them. The goal is for all CCBHC staff to understand how they support the CCBHC’s success and be able to speak to how the model improves care for the individuals they serve, and the community more broadly. The session will explore core functions of team members within a high functioning CCBHC and recommendations for where they can support advocacy efforts.

In partnership with BMS and BBH, the WVU Health Affairs Institute (HAI) is engaged in a multi-year evaluation of CCBHCs in West Virginia. Through interviews with WV CCBHC executive leadership, HAI conducted a preliminary review of the certification process undertaken by the state's first six CCBHCs. This presentation outlines the structure of the evaluation and the results of the preliminary report.
