Boosting Patient Engagement and Preventive Care with Quality Insights' Annual Wellness Visit Initiative

Quality Insights’ Annual Wellness Visit (AWV) Initiative offers a way to boost engagement with patients. We've developed and launched multiple resources for providers and beneficiaries, all focused on prevention, and delivered AWV education directly to beneficiaries and providers through workshops, clinics, community events, and onsite visits. Some examples of these efforts include the "AWV Assessment and Resource Toolkit" which centralizes essential AWV components, and a reimbursement calculator on the provider dashboard, which also supports providers in boosting AWV usage by illustrating the financial benefits.

The initiative’s central resource hub, the "All Things Annual Wellness Visits" landing page, simplifies access to both provider and beneficiary materials, including checklists, assessments, and best practices. On-demand learning modules have boosted AWV knowledge, and webinars led by Dr. Cynthia Pinson and Dr. Lauren Miller saw positive feedback on knowledge gains and confidence. Sixteen additional resources were also created to highlight the value of AWVs and preventive care.
