Nathan Gibson Shares Essential Tips for Staying Safe in Cyberspace

Quality Insights Chief Information and Security Officer Nathan Gibson presented to AARP members on protecting personal information online, covering critical topics including safe browsing practices, recognizing online scams, and determining when it's appropriate to share personal details in cyberspace.

The presentation addressed the growing need for online security awareness as more personal and financial information moves into the digital realm. Gibson guided attendees through practical strategies for safeguarding their data and staying vigilant against cyber threats.

Gibson brings over 24 years of information technology experience to his role at Quality Insights, where he has spent 17 years protecting sensitive healthcare information and leading cybersecurity initiatives. He holds numerous professional certifications, including Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer (CHCIO), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). His cybersecurity expertise has been recognized by CIO Magazine, and he has presented at national conferences in Washington, D.C.

Gibson specializes in making complex security concepts accessible to non-technical audiences. Throughout his career, he has successfully guided organizations through rigorous federal security requirements, including work with the Department of Veterans Affairs and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Ashworth College and has completed executive leadership training at Harvard University.
