Biddy Here: Launching the ThinkSpace Blog
Well, here we go—my first official ThinkSpace blog post. I should probably open with something polished and profound about “innovation ecosystems” and “shaping the future of rural health,” but let’s be honest: it feels more like that moment when you hit “unmute” on Zoom and pray your dog doesn’t immediately start barking at the wind.
ThinkSpace is new. Like, still has the tags on new. We’re standing at the starting line with big ideas, bigger hopes, and the kind of nervous excitement that makes you triple-check if your mic is really muted. The mission? To build a place where rural health innovation doesn’t just sound good on a grant application but actually happens. A place where folks can test bold ideas, collaborate, and maybe even fail forward without the side-eye.
My Week at Gener8tor BOLT
Recently, I had the chance to hang out at the Gener8tor BOLT conference. I heard from a lineup of startup founders—some squarely in the healthcare lane we’re chasing, others in totally different spaces. And honestly? That mix was refreshing. The healthcare-aligned folks are building and evolving products with real potential to shift how people access, understand, and manage care. The others? They sparked ideas about what’s possible when you think way outside the medical chart.
Bottom line: there’s real energy out there, and I’m excited to keep conversations going with the ones who could plug directly into rural health solutions.
Why Blog About This Stuff?
Because innovation is messy. It’s funny. It’s frustrating. And if we don’t tell the story along the way, we risk making it look like some magical overnight success. Spoiler: it’s not.
This blog is going to be part diary, part playbook, part therapy session for anyone trying to fix healthcare from the inside out. Expect stories about the wins, the faceplants, and the “you can’t make this up” moments that come with building something from scratch.
The Heart of It All
At the end of the day, ThinkSpace is about creating a launchpad for rural health ideas that matter. Big-city incubators and accelerators are great—but they don’t always understand what it means when your nearest specialist is two counties away or when broadband is more of a rumor than a reality. We get it. That’s why we’re here.
So welcome to this little corner of the internet. If you’re curious, if you’ve got ideas, or if you just like underdog stories with a sense of humor—you’re in the right place.
Now, excuse me while I go figure out if we need a mascot. (Spoiler: we probably do. And yes, it’ll be a dog.)
