Reducing the Incidence of Stroke, Together

The Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Program

Welcome to the Quality Insights' Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Program

Quality Insights is a proud grantee of the Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Program, working to prevent strokes and improve outcomes for stroke survivors across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Through partnerships with healthcare delivery systems and community organizations, we help identify and control hypertension, enhance team-based care, and connect patients with the resources they need to live healthier lives at NO COST.

Partnering to Prevent Stroke and Save Lives

Every day, healthcare practices across Pennsylvania care for patients with hypertension and high cholesterol — two of the most common and controllable risk factors for stroke. Yet, with limited time and resources, it can be challenging to make lasting improvements in cardiovascular health outcomes.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 1.5 million heart attacks and strokes occur in the U.S. each year. Many of these events are linked to silent but modifiable risks such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and smoking. The good news: when these risks are effectively managed, a person’s chance of having a heart attack or stroke can be reduced by more than 80%.

That’s where we come in.

Partnering to Improve Stroke and Heart Health in Pennsylvania

At Quality Insights, we’re committed to empowering Pennsylvania healthcare providers and communities through the Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Program (Coverdell Program). Our mission is to strengthen stroke prevention and improve cardiovascular outcomes across the state by equipping practices with evidence-based education, clinical guidance, and practical tools that make a measurable difference.

Through an agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PADOH), Quality Insights offers no-cost assistance to eligible healthcare systems, Federally Qualified Health Centers, independent practices, and community-based organizations. Together, we can enhance individual patient care, reduce health disparities, and improve population health for chronic disease prevention and control.
